Protest list against a modern organ and for a Silbermann reconstruction in the Frauenkirche Dresden
Dear organ friend!
There are numerous sites on the web with information about the planned organ of the Frauenkirche Dresden. (E. g. www.geocities.com/Vienna/1664/frauenkdresd/dresfram.htm *)
Experts and Organists from all over the world have expressed their vexation about the decision
not to build a full reconstruction of the historic Silbermann organ, but instead
to build a modern compromise organ. This is contrary to the initial plans
and runs counter to the promise given at the beginning of the collection campaign
for the Frauenkirche Dresden. If you can read German, I would like to recommend to you
a very good summary of facts in a letter of Nobel prize winner Günter Blobel
and Bach researcher Christoph Wolff to the "Foundation Frauenkirche" which you can find

What was missing in my eyes was a list where everybody could register to express his or her protest.
